Job Post (Utility Locator)

Position Summary:

The Utility Locator is responsible for identifying, marking, and verifying underground utilities to ensure safe drilling and excavation operations. This role is critical to job-site safety and damage prevention.

Key Responsibilities:

• Locate and mark underground utilities using industry-approved equipment
• Read and interpret utility maps, drawings, and work orders
• Communicate clearly with drillers and crew members regarding utility locations
• Maintain accurate documentation of locates performed
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations
• Respond to locate requests in a timely manner
• Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance
• Promote job-site safety and awareness

Qualifications:

• Experience in utility locating preferred (training available for entry-level candidates)
• Knowledge of underground utility systems (gas, water, electric, telecom)
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license required
• Comfortable working outdoors and walking long distances
