Position Summary
This material management warehouse receives, inspects, stores, kits, and delivers approximately 38,000 process instruments, valves, and components used in the construction and equipment installation of a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in northeast Houston. The Material Handler / Forklift Operator performs the physical movement of material throughout the facility, including unloading, put-away, component pulls for kitting, staging, and outbound loading. This is the only position authorized to operate forklifts in the facility, and every movement is recorded by barcode scan. Certified handlers are eligible for advancement on a progressive wage schedule.

Key Responsibilities
• Unload inbound trucks to the receiving lane; load outbound trucks against verified release orders
• Execute same-day put-away to assigned rack locations and scan unit-to-location on every move
• Pull components for kitting work orders and deliver to kitting stations; handle instruments per packaging and ESD protocols
• Move staged kits and released units to outbound; handle commissioned units under the caged-zone and newborn protocols
• Conduct daily forklift inspections and report equipment issues, damage, or safety concerns immediately
• Maintain aisle discipline: pedestrian lanes respected, loads within rated limits, zero shortcuts

Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Forklift certification and OSHA 10 (provided if not current)
• Comfortable with handheld scanners and basic inventory software
• Safe, deliberate work habits around high-value equipment; available for rotating shifts as coverage scales

Preferred (Not Required)
• Prior warehouse, freight, distribution, or manufacturing floor experience
• Experience handling sensitive instruments, fragile, oversized, or high-value material

Physical & Work Environment
Active warehouse role: frequent lifting to 50 lbs, extended standing and walking, forklift operation throughout shift.
UCC is an equal opportunity and proud second-chance employer. Where noted, offers are contingent on background requirements tied to secure-site access.
*Starting pay shown as a planning range; all roles follow UCC’s progressive wage schedule with level reviews approximately every five pay periods.
