Warehouse Manager | Full-time; day shift (receiving windows) | $24–30/hr |
Position Summary
This material management warehouse receives, inspects, stores, kits, and delivers approximately 38,000 process instruments, valves, and components used in the construction and equipment installation of a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in northeast Houston. The Receiving Inspector is the first point of control for all inbound material. The position verifies each delivery against the packing list and purchase order, inspects condition and documentation, opens the receiving record, and routes material to put-away or quarantine. Discrepancies are identified and documented before the carrier departs.
Key Responsibilities
• Verify piece counts against packing lists, PO line items, and client specifications for every inbound load
• Photograph load condition; document damage, shortage, or overage before the driver departs and report within 24 hours
• Perform visual inspection: packaging integrity, tag and part-number match, calibration certificates and vendor paperwork present
• Confirm chain-of-custody documentation for commissioned equipment before caged-zone transfer
• Open the receiving record and apply barcode labels for every unit
• Route failed or uncertain units to quarantine with hold tags; log discrepancies same day
• Verify outbound loads against release orders with the same discipline as inbound
• Coordinate with Material Handlers so the receiving lane is empty at end of shift
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Sharp eye for detail and disciplined documentation and photo-reporting habits
• OSHA 10 and inspection SOP training (provided)
Preferred (Not Required)
• 1–2+ years in receiving, QC/QA, or freight handling, especially with regulated or high-value goods
• Experience receiving instruments, electronics, or other sensitive equipment; familiarity with SOPs and vendor discrepancy processes
Physical & Work Environment
Dock and warehouse environment; frequent standing, bending, and lifting to 50 lbs during receiving windows.
